I grew up in Denver, Colorado, and attended college there before spending some time in South Africa. I fell in love with the culture and after being around and working with such poverty and lack of good nutrition, I gained a whole new perspective on how Americans view food.
I returned to the United States and with a new mission. I wanted to jump head-first into weight management and be a part of turning around this country’s epidemic of obesity. I became a single Mom and realized how hard it was to budget, shop and manage your time while maintaining a healthy lifestyle. For over 20 years I have worked for major weight loss companies in the capacity of health educator and loved what I did.
Recently, I went through a life changing experience with my health and fortunately survived. It taught me to look at my goals differently. I decided that life was too short not to pursue one’s passion the way you want to. I decided to throw caution to the wind and fully invest my time into personal weight loss consulting.
I began my weight management career in 1993 and have loved being an educator ever since. I look at working with each patient as a partnership. Whether a patient has 15 pounds or 200 pounds to lose, I am there to educate and motivate them to achieve their goals. Even with some bumps in the road I know each patient CAN do this and it is my privilege to guide them. I have seen hundreds of lives changed forever! Someone asked me once if I didn't do this, what would I do? There was no answer. This is what I was meant to do and that is why I am so committed to my job!
My goal with you is to work individually with your life style, as hectic as that may be.
Three things many people don’t know about me:
1. When I first entered college I wanted to be a social worker
2. I cannot tolerate prejudice
3. I auditioned for The Next Food Network Star on Food Network
